DIY Origami Heart Love Note

Hi lovelies! I am proud to bring you R&B’s first DIY entry. Since this is a first, let’s start with an easy little project, shall we?

Say hello to DIY origami heart invitations! Saw these little cuties at Eat Drink Chic, who actually used these as their engagement invitations. The concept of these hearts is to keep it as minimal as possible and let the craftsmanship & simple materials stand out on their own. I love the idea that you can personalize each invite by placing your own poetry at the front. The sample used a quote from Irish novelist/sonwriter Samuel Lover “Come live in my heart and pay no rent” . Sweet! ♥

To start, here are the materials you’ll need:

For Heart –
white or off-white stock paper
Ruler
Scalpel
White yarn/twine

For Envelope/Pocket:
White translucent paper
Needle
White Thread

For instructions on how to create the origami heart & envelope, you can view this page. You can also download templates of the origami design & heart pocket here.

So there you have it, our very first DIY project. Hopefully in the coming weeks, i’ll be able to publish more DIY entries to keep our hands busy.

Enjoy the weekend everyone! xoxo
