Utterly Engaged’s Modern Design Challenge

I’ve been such a fan of Utterly Engaged and when they came out with their 8th issue “Modern”, I was so thrilled that they have featured a design challenge for wedding professionals. The challenge was to create fabulous tablescapes with elements of fabric, paper and industrial materials. Every entry looked amazing and there’s so many of them so I’ll just be sharing some of favorites.

This is the one of the editor’s pick and my personal favorite as well. Designed by Lindye Galloway & Aimee Grover, this is a design that is modern, elegant & glamorous & with just the perfect touch of masculinity (so guys can still appreciate this). The combination of silver, black & purple is just perfect! I love how they played with all the different textures like the lampshades , fresh white flowers, brand new shiny nails & bejeweled napkin rings. If you didn’t notice, they used twisted wires for their centerpieces to create an illusion of the typical water & floating flower arrangements. Nice right? So make sure you check out their DIY video here on how to create that fabulous centerpiece!

Next is a modern nautical theme by Mai Hoang, Jenny Wei & Tuan Hua from Bunch Studio. What’s so perfect about this is how something so effortless can turn out to be so calm & beautiful. Graphic bold stripes, canvas flowers, sunflowers, and wooden planks were just enough to keep the design playful & summery. Perfect for beach weddings!

Who doesn’t love crafts? Imagine having your tablescape totally DIY. I was so amazed with how detail oriented this next design is that I had to zoom in the pictures to catch all the crafts. Modern muted colors were perfect to emphasize even the smallest detail. Carter & Cook Event Co. & Posh Paperie’s craft’s table can easily be adapted to your wedding & I believe is such a budget saver.
