Suit Yourself

I was browsing App Store the other day and found this helpful app for grooms-to-be. Apparently, USA Network & Mr. Porter released this new iOS application ‘Suit Yourself’ to promote the new drama “Suits”. (I hear it’s good, haven’t tried watching it)

It’s quite interesting really! It allows you to dress up for different occasions (like dates, ball game, or weddings!) and it has a section on ‘how to choose the right suit’ too. Best thing is you can save the look you’ve created. Oh, and it’s free!

I think it’ll be useful to visualise how your fiancé would look on your big day. You can bring it to the tailor and show them the looks too. It’ll be easier to explain. (I don’t know much about technicalities in a suit so photos really do help)

There you go lovelies! Give it a try!

Happy Monday to everyone!

Note: I’d like to announce to that Ruffles&Bells will be moving to a new website. I’ll post more about it soon. But I do hope I’d see you there too! Thank you so much for all your support!

Color-Blocked

Color blocking is all the rage now in the fashion runway and it looks like it’s here to still early 2013. I’ve recently tried it on my wardrobe so I thought I might share this trend with all you brides-to-be(s) too!

First and foremost, definition:

Color blocking is a technique where blocks of various fabrics are sewn together to create clothing with a few different solid colors..

I’ve read somewhere that color blocking is not for the faint of heart. So if you think having a color blocked wedding dress is too much, you can always channel this colorful trend with your bridesmaids dresses.

The key colors this year is fuschia & tangerine, black on yellow, blue (which is now the winter color here in Australia) or neon colors.

I’m so in love with the canopy ceiling. Love the colors!  For favors, I found these adorable DIY terra cotta pots.

Who can forget the cake!

So, will you be color-blocking your wedding too? If yes, which color will you be mixing together?

Lovely Day of May!

Hi to the month of May! Just want to show you lovelies something to be inspired about! Saw this picture from Pinterest and fell in love with it instantly!

{Photo from Pinterest}

Love the color of the sunset against the water…and the boat as well! It looks so serene and peaceful! *sigh* Don’t you think? Too bad though, the link didn’t really say who photographed it. But nevertheless, kudos to him 🙂

Note: I’ll be a silent the next two weeks finalizing everything for the wedding but I shall come back with lots of DIYs from the big day! Tata for now!

Barbie & Ken Got Hitched!

This is just adorable! Barbie’s all grown up and she’s tying the knot (I want to add ‘haha’ to the end of this sentence)! Spotted this in Rock & Roll Bride, french photographer Béatrice de Guigné had the humor of capturing Barbie & Ken’s special day just like how a real wedding would be.

Note: Playing Aqua’s Barbie Girl in the background seems fit while browsing through the photos 😛

Of course there’s pink! According to Beatrice: “Barbie & Ken were married at Faraway Castle, in Plasticity. The bride bought her dress from The Fairy Godmother shop and her shoes from the Cinderella Store. The groom wore a suit from The Prince Charming Emporium. The couple met more than 50 years ago (yes I know they look young). Barbie was tired of waiting so she asked Ken to get married.” Even their story is hilariously cute!

Now I have the urge to look for  my Barbie stuff then recreate my own version of their wedding day! That would be awesome!

Congratulations to the newlyweds!

XOXO,
Barbie & Ken

Till the Break of Dawn

It’s the end of the week and just to greet you in advance, Happy Halloween everyone! So what will you girlies be dressed as for trick or treat?

As promised, in anticipation for the upcoming premiere of Breaking Dawn, photographer Brienne Michelle has come up with a styled shoot inspired by Edward & Bella’s wedding. The style is a bit more southern California style mixed with trinkets from the book & the movie…all put together gorgeously!

Chess piece escort cards to match the cover of the book, genius!

They literally waited for the sunset to capture the “twilight”/dramatic effect for the shoot!

Especially LOOOOOVE this last one! Don’t forget to check out her blog here for more photos.

Trick or treat everyone! Boo!

Rustic Chic: Kate Moss Wedding

I guess when you’re a super model like Kate Moss, worrying about being beautiful in your wedding photos is the least of your worries. Oh, I stand corrected. Kate Moss doesn’t have to worry about looking fa-bu-lous – the word ‘beautiful’ seems to0 subtle to describe her on her wedding day! See for yourself!

Tell you a secret, I’m addicted to rustic chic weddings. Seems they’ve been catching my eye lately.

Adore John Galliano‘s sleeveless ivory wedding dress on Kate! She looks so ethereal! The dress was paired with a Godichefac Manolo Blahnik sandals customised with crystals & blue insoles.

Hues of blue seems to be the theme for this wedding. Jamie Hince chose a double-breasted suit by Yves-Laurent.

Love the fur + red coat + all the wonderful shots by Mario Testino!

Sigh…would have been nice to have witnessed it first hand 😛

Have a nice week everyone!

Rustic Love

I’ve always found barn style venues to be so charismatic! They have a certain character that adds to the charm of any event. Now, bricks or wood details plus candles (i mean lots of candles!) is a to-die-for combination! And this ceremony design held in The Cork Factory, Pennsylvania just proves me right!

A rustic wedding seems to be dawning on me lately. *Imagining now* Vintage + Rustic = Stunning! ^_^

You can check the Dawn & Rennie’s full urban wedding details from Postcards & Pretties.

Happy weekend girlies! XOXO
