Ivy & Aster Spring Bridal Collection 2012

Ok, who doesn’t love Ivy & Aster? If I would have the chance to be Cinderella for a day, I would have chosen Ivy & Aster to be my fairy godmothers! Seriously!

I might be late for the ball though, I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to decide which gown I should wear! Only one word to describe all of them: GORGEOUS! ❤❤❤

Behold, Ivy & Aster’s Spring Bridal Collection 2012!

As usual, I picked out some of my favourites:

{In Bloom: pleated sweetheart bodice tops a tiered confection of layers with raw edges}

{Layer Cake: sweetheart neckline with a wide waist cummerbund tops off the layered column skirt.}

{Thoughts of Thee: back bodice curves down from the front for a flattering cinched effect.  The soft flowing skirt has light volume and a flowing train.}

I love how she mixed the details of vintage with a modern touch. Just means you can always have both in your wedding!

For prices, details and availability, you may visit {Ivy & Aster}.

Ivy & Aster dresses can be found in Australia at Studio White.

Stay pretty lovelies!

Bring Sexy Back

The one thing I was sure about my wedding gown was the back – I wanted it to be something sexy since everyone’s going to be staring at it for almost an hour, might as well make a statement, right? But don’t get me wrong, we weren’t really able to cut it very low because it won’t be able to support the front part. Too bad!

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is, the back of your wedding gown is something that you can really be creative about. When you walk down the aisle, people look at your face and your gown and then when you walk past them…that’s the time you surprise them! You know, keep the WOW factor 360 degrees! Let me show you some gorgeous finds I’ve found.

I’ll totally gush over anything Claire Pettibone!

Or how about something aesthetically lovely?

{Anna Campbell from Polkadot Bride}

Too bad I can’t find the source of this one. I love the detail and it’s just so elegantly done! If you do know who made this gown, please let me know. 🙂

Finally, something cute. Perhaps a heart shaped back? So cute!

So how are you bringing sexy back to your wedding? *wink*

Wedding Worthy Oscars 2012

Raise your hand if you look forward to watching the Oscars for not just the awards, but for the gorgeous gowns as well. Guilty here! And according to Los Angeles Times, this year’s Oscars arrivals seems to be confusing of whether it’s a ‘red carpet’ or ‘mass wedding’ – which means yipee for us bride-to-be(s)! Gown inspirations right ahead!

E! Entertainment host Giuliana Rancic in her Basil Soda tulle gown featuring an illusion neckline.

Rooney Mara, from The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, in a stunning architectural Givenchy gown. Very chic & modern!

Extra hostess Maria Menounos, looks like a Grecian goddess, in a mint green chiffon dress. Worn with a romantic loose bun.

Cameron Diaz shone in this nude Gucci gown with cascading ruffles and gold beading. Her smoky eyes and pale pink lipstick is just perfect for her usual effortless style.

And my personal favorite! Kate Mara went feminine flirty with this blush-toned, floral bead-embellished Elie Saab gown. Completed with a bow tie detail at the waistline and paired with winged-out eye and low-key bun.

So which of these are your favorite?

Catch you later, girlies!

Claire Pettibone 2012 Beau Monde Collection

Ok, I know I love lace & ruffles but this is just gorgeous in a whole different level! Lo and behold – it’s Claire Pettibone’s Beau Monde Collection.

Claire Pettibone’s Beau Monde collection has been described as a sultry exploration of French-infused antique lace, flirtatious bodices and gold trimmed ruffles. That’s according to The Wedding Chicks. Imagine how lovely all these gowns would look in a romantic English garden wedding!

I’m literally at awe looking at each one of them. Makes me want to touch them & feel all the details! Or just maybe have the chance to try it on?

AND here’s my favorite amongst them all! How gorgeous is that low backline & lace detail on the shoulders! P-E-R-F-E-C-T.

Enough with the drooling, have a Chinese New Year everyone!

Ombré

How are you lovelies? I’m so sorry for the silent treatment the last two weeks, its been quite busy around here with two weddings on-hand. My feet are killing me but nevertheless it was all worth it seeing both brides walk down the aisle. I can’t wait to get a hold of the photos so I can share them with you too!

For the meantime, today’s post is a new trend I got from GreenWeddingShoes: Ombre!

om·bré/ˈämˌbrā/

Adjective:
(of a fabric) Having a dyed, printed, or woven design in which the color is graduated from light to dark.

Basically it means you don’t have to choose just one tone of your favorite color to your wedding details, with this concept you can incorporate multiple tones at a time! Hooray for us girls! Alright, here’s a few photos from Versace’s Atelier Spring 2011 collection to enlighten you:

…and my personal favorite! Delicately done!

So, what do you think? Can you imagine yourself wearing an Ombré dress on your wedding day?

Enjoy the week ahead!

Elie Saab Fall/Winter 2011-2012 Couture Collection

There’s only one word to describe Elie Saab’s collection: BREATHTAKING. I’ve totally fallen in love with all the way he use fabric – appliques of tulle and velvet & the sparkling beads and crystal embelishments – he really knows how to dress a woman!

This year’s fall/winter collection features a palette of ivory, aqua marine, dark brown & dark navy blue.

I’d die to get to wear one of his creations! Nevertheless, you can always show these to your tailor friend & have it customized to your body shape & budget needs…agree? If there’s a will there’s a way!

Stay lovely! XOXO

Harry Potter’s Bill & Fleur Wedding

So I’m almost done with my Harry Potter marathon before catching the final movie this weekend and admittedly, I never paid attention to the details on Bill & Fleur’s wedding from part 1 of The Deathly Hallows. And apparently some of the details are quite inspiring!

Of course, the motif is purple with accents of copper. A typical color motif, I would assume, in the world of wizardry. I love the decor details!

Now, the dress is to die for! I love the contrast of the black phoenixes hugging her from the back to the decolletage with the layers of white organza ruffles. It speaks French just like Fleur!

I’d use this as inspiration for my wedding dress.  You?

Just a thought, do you think you’d ever go for a Harry Potter themed wedding? Hmmm.

With that, I’m going back to my marathon…see you in theaters this weekend!

*Note: There seems to be a trend going on for HP fanatics. Since it’s the last movie, just for the fun of it, wave your imaginary wand during rolling of the credits then say “Mischief Managed”! ^_^

The skirt and details on the top are made of a beautiful ivory hemp silk blend, and the structured foundation is made of an organic cotton and hemp with silk blend.
